So, Pete and I have decided to DO something about our lifestyle! There will no longer be alcohol in our home at ANY time, Pete is cutting down on his smoking, we are going to START to eat healthier, and we are going to start exercising every day. We are going to start off slowly, as to not freak ourselves out and get discouraged. We're doing "baby steps". We're both tired of feeling like crap. We would LOVE for you to pray for us as we start this journey together :) We want to be accountable to you, our friends and family. Our biggest struggle at this time, is snacking while at our computers. Pete and I each have our own computers and each of us snack ALL the time while "computing." The second biggest struggle, is Pete's smoking. There is a routine, and unless you've been a smoker, you don't realize how difficult giving smoking up is. There's the *first smoke of the day, *after bathroom smoke, *after breakfast/lunch/ dinner smoke, *after "nookie" smoke, and all the ***"just because smokes" in between.
*** Theses are smokes for reasons like, I've annoyed Pete, or he's frustrated with something, he's excited about something, he's talking on the phone etc.
The smoking and drinking pretty much go hand in hand. Pete is currently on his LAST bottle of alcohol, which will be gone by the end of today. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to paint a bad picture of my husband. He is an amazing, wonderful man, but like all of us, he has his cravings and addictions. My BIG struggle is being home all day, and not being tempted to snack. That's a tough one, but I am going to do my best to snack on fruits and veggies when I feel tempted. We have a water cooler, and one trick I have learned, is to drink a glass of water if you THINK you are hungry. If you are STILL hungry AFTER the glass of water, then it's true stomach hunger and not just head hunger. I will try to keep you updated, as to how things are going with our new lifestyle. Thanks again for all of your love, support, and prayers :)

On Tuesday, Pete and I went to see The Happening. I thought it was pretty good, and give it 4 out of 5 stars. Mark Whalberg was in it, and he was as yummy as usual :) It was pretty graphic as far as gore goes, so if you are NOT a fan of blood and that sort of thing, DO NOT go see this movie...there is quite a lot of blood. The idea behind the movie is pretty good, and you don't actually know what's causing all the chaos, until about half way thru the movie. I can't remember if there was any swearing, since I was high on morphine during the show, but there wasn't any nudity. So that's my review of The Happening :)

Well, it's coming to that time of year again! Friday is Relay For Life 2008!!!! I can't believe this will be my fifth year participating! This year will be extra special, because Pete will be coming! I am so VERY thankful to the Canadian Cancer Society! They have helped me so much, especially in the medication department! They pay for all of my chemotherapy drugs! Without them, I would be paying $1,500/month for my chemo! You know when you get a call from the Canadian Cancer Society, asking you to give money? Well, that's just one of the many things that the money goes towards;meds for cancer patients. I look forward to Relay EVERY year! Once again, this year I will be working in the Survivors tent! I won't be on a team, since I will have to be doing a bit of running around during Relay. I encourage all of you to come out to this fun, family event! There is SO much to see and do there! They have live entertainment all night, and be sure to stay for the always emotional, luminary ceremony at 10pm. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I am not in a very good frame of mind today. Just really overwhelmed with emotions, mostly sadness. I'm glad it's Pete's short day today....he get's off in an hour :)

After a Tim Horton's breakfast, Pete and I went to the Father's Day car show at Heritage Park in Mission. This was "Disneyland" for Pete, since he LOVES cars! LOL!

This is an AC Cobra. This is one of Pete's "dream cars". When we win the HUGE lottery, Pete will be getting an AC Cobra.
We met up with my brother-in-law Jerry, and my sweet, beautiful niece, Shelby, at the car show. Shelby just got her braces off a couple of weeks ago, and is VERY happy with her new smile :) This is a boler trainer. There were a lot of these at the car show. I think boler trailers are SO cute! Pete looks really mean in this picture. Pete is NOT mean. Pete does NOT like to smile for pictures. This is Pete's new 80.00 shirt that he bought at the car show. He is happy with his new shirt. I think it looks nice. Pete is smiling on the inside. After the car show, we went to Mission Raceway. It was pretty dead there, and not very fun. It was Father's Day, and it was Pete's day, so we did what Pete wanted to do. Pete wanted to go to Mission Raceway. Myself, not so much. Then we came back to Abbotsford and went to Starbucks. Pete all of the sudden likes Starbucks. I had an iced mocha, Pete had a decaf coffee. When we got home we ended things off with a steak bbq. The steak was rubbery. Pete enjoyed his Father's Day, even though our daughter did not phone to wish her dad a Happy Father's Day. Pete said he was ok with that, but I know he's not. Every dad wants to hear from their child on Father's Day. So, Father's Day is over for another year. I hope everyone had a good time doing Father's Day stuff with the men in their life :)

Yesterday afternoon, Pete and I went to White Rock....yes, again. It's our favorite place to be together :) It was perfect...not too hot and not too cold.

We sat, and talked, and prayed together. It was so peaceful and nice. There was really no one there, since it was a week day and a work day. We pretty much had the place to ourselves.
The ocean was cold, but very beautiful. The waves were rolling in, and the tide was right to the shoreline. It was really peaceful and relaxing. I was feeling creative, and I took a few different shots of my wedding rings....

This is one of my favorite ones....on a drift wood log.
We didn't really need to worry about the warnings on the sign... :)
We finished off our visit to White Rock, with a corn dog and a coffee. We decided to break the fish and chips tradition, since Pete had NEVER had a corn dog before, and wanted to try one. He said he liked it, but wouldn't want to eat them on a regular basis.

This was the dumbest movie I have EVER seen! I am happy we did not pay to see it. We often see movies for free, and I'll tell you, my faithful readers how you can watch them for free as well. The NON-theater way to see them for free is www.surfthechannel.com I took a chance on this movie, because it had Adam Sandler in it, and the previews looked pretty funny. But, there were WAY too many sexual references in it, and too many naked scenes as well. I would NOT let my stepdaughter see it, and it wasn't actually that funny. So my rating on this movie is 1 out of 10.
