Notice anything wrong with this picture? Look at the tire, and what side of the curb it's on.....hmmmm...did someone accidentally drive OVER the abutment???

In true fashion, Kirsten (her friend), and I, had an "adventure" tonight. We were leaving IHOP and Kirsten pulled forward, not realizing that here was an abutment right in front of us. Her car became stuck. I was so proud of her. I would have burst into tears, with anxiety. She handled it like a pro. She put it in reverse and we tried to push the car while Kirsten laid on the gas. It wouldn't budge. So we called her hubby, and a few other strong men, but... This was our pot smoking, knight in shinning jeep, who rocked Kirsten's car free from the abutment! He was a total stranger, who drove by and saw our situation. He pulled into the IHOP parking lot and helped us. After a big hug from Kirsten, he drove off into the sunset! Can't wait for our next adventure, Kirsten! LOL!

In order to prepare for this

and this, next week, I did

This!

I've been sleeping on it, so it doesn't look that great, it looked better before the nap! LOL! I had my hairdresser cut off 6 inches! It's going to thin/fall out in September, so I figured I'd save myself the shock! LOL! Pete says it's cute! So, if you are not on Facebook and have not already heard, next week I start on Interferon. It's a chemotherapy drug with harsh flu like symptoms for the first month. I'm talking chills, fever, aching bones, nausea, chattering teeth. I was on this chemo for a month, once before, but this time I have morphine, ahhhhhh......magical morphine, to help with the side effects. I will be on both hydrea and morphine at the same time. My cancer doctor will be SLOWLY weaning me off the hydrea, and SLOWLY increasing the interferon. I WAS facing a once month hospital stay in September, so she could monitor myself and the side effects, but since Pete has agreed to learn how to do my injections, I can avoid the hospital stay! YAY! So feel free to keep us in your prayers :)

Today has NOT been a good day, well, I should say, the last FEW days have not been good in the pain and nausea department. Today took the cake. I was in Walmart and bought a few cleaning supplies. I was already feeling really nauseated, but as I left the self serve check out, I got a whiff of Mc Donalds, and well, let's just say I DIDN'T make it to the bathroom! The sad thing is, I wasn't embarrassed, and I didn't even care. Some employees came over to "help me", but I just got up, told them I was sorry for the mess, and walked towards the door. One of the greeters walked me to my car, to make sure I was ok, and asked if she should call someone to drive me home. I told her I was ok to drive and that I only live 5 minutes away. I actually had to go pick Pete up from work, so off I went to THW. Of course he noticed right away that something was wrong, cuz the poor guy greeted me with a kiss!!! I tried really hard to turn my head, but he got my mouth. I don't think I've EVER seen his face look so disgusted? before. I this nausea is REALLY bad, because neither Gravol OR my "special magic pills" are working on it. Oh well, another fun day with cancer...never a dull moment.

I LOVE Cindy! She makes me laugh, and is SUCH an awesome friend! Yesterday evening we both needed to get out of the house, so we decided to take some late dinner to Mill Lake for a picnic. While we were there, actually just before we were about to leave, Cindy wanted to have a smoke. Neither of us had a lighter on us, so Cindy decided to ask someone who was smoking, for a light. Well, I saw these guys "a mile away." How could you NOT "notice" them, but apparently, Cindy didn't "notice" them...LOL! As we were walking to the parking lot, there were these two young guys, dressed kinda gangster, and leaning on a white Navigator with blacked out windows. One guy, was smoking a joint, which you could ALSO smell "a mile away." So, before I know what's going on, Cindy approaches the pot smoker, and asks for a light! I was freaking out on the inside. So, he lends her his lighter, and off we go. As we are walking away, I start freaking out. Cindy's like "what"? I'm like , did you NOT see what he was smoking, what they were driving, what they were DOING? LOL! Obviously drug dealers or something. So, Cindy takes a closer look, and it FINALLY clicks in...LOL! Let's just say, we left Mill Lake pretty quickly! LOL! I love ya Cindy!!! LOL!

So a few posts back, I had written that I was thinking of shutting down my blog if I didn't start getting comments on my posts. I also mentioned the reason WHY I felt this way, which is that it takes a lot of energy to keep up the blog, since I am feeling sick most of the time. I got a personal email from one of my now former readers, and this is an excerpt from that email: "After your post where you ranted about people not commenting I decided that I would not read your blog anymore. I just don't like that kind of pressure." Are you kidding me??? Pressure? Here's some daily pressure for you...trying to make it to the bathroom on time, to throw up from chemo, in the toilet and not on the bedroom carpet, or how about the pressure of keeping up a household, when you can hardly get out of bed and dressed for the day, some days, or how about the pressure of having so much pain going thru your body, all you can do is cry in your bed, while praying and asking God to just come and take you? Well, the LAST thing I want to do, is put pressure on my readers! Good grief!!! You know, when I read other people's blogs, I leave comments, to let them know I was there, my thoughts on their post, just to say hi, or whatever. I'm not going to use having cancer as an excuse to be a bitch, however, I DO have cancer and feel like crap most of the time, which makes me bitchy sometimes. I'm sorry if that offends people. This is my blog/life, take it or leave it, read or don't read my blog. Anyhow, I just had to get this out, since it really bothered me to get that email.

Today I had the privilege of attending the memorial service, of one of my former group home clients, QB. As I sat there and listened about his life and the people he impacted during his 59 years here on earth, it made me start thinking about my own life, and the people I may or may not have affected during my time here on earth. They had an open mike at the service, and out of 50+ people, only 3 people got up to say something about QB. That was kind of sad to me. I started thinking about who, if anyone, would get up at my memorial service, and what they might say, and that thought really frightened me. I know I've made a few friends, MANY acquaintances, and LOTS of enemies, so that in itself is a scary mix for an open mike. My cousin once told me of a funeral service he went to for one of his clients (he works in finance). He said that the guy who passed away, left a note to be read at his funeral, and it went something like this; "Some of you here are friends and are here to pay your respects, some of you are just here for the free buffet after the service, and some of you here, are people who hated me in life, and are just here to make sure I'm actually dead." He goes on to make some "confessions" such as "Bob, you remember that time 50.00 went missing from your wallet?, Ya, that was me, I took it." He also made some funny confessions. It really irks me when people always have something nice to say when you are dead, even if they hated you when you were alive. You know what I'm talking about. I think we've all been to funerals or memorials, where people get up to the mike and say what they think the family wants to hear. Personally, I've made a "guest list" for my funeral, and if you ain't on it, you ain't getting in...LOL! It's my last ditch attempt at control, from the grave...LOL! But seriously, I encourage you to think about what people will remember you by, once you are gone. What would you want them to get up and say about you?
