Yesterday afternoon, Pete and I went to White Rock....yes, again. It's our favorite place to be together :) It was perfect...not too hot and not too cold.

We sat, and talked, and prayed together. It was so peaceful and nice. There was really no one there, since it was a week day and a work day. We pretty much had the place to ourselves.
The ocean was cold, but very beautiful. The waves were rolling in, and the tide was right to the shoreline. It was really peaceful and relaxing. I was feeling creative, and I took a few different shots of my wedding rings....

This is one of my favorite ones....on a drift wood log.
We didn't really need to worry about the warnings on the sign... :)
We finished off our visit to White Rock, with a corn dog and a coffee. We decided to break the fish and chips tradition, since Pete had NEVER had a corn dog before, and wanted to try one. He said he liked it, but wouldn't want to eat them on a regular basis.

This was the dumbest movie I have EVER seen! I am happy we did not pay to see it. We often see movies for free, and I'll tell you, my faithful readers how you can watch them for free as well. The NON-theater way to see them for free is www.surfthechannel.com I took a chance on this movie, because it had Adam Sandler in it, and the previews looked pretty funny. But, there were WAY too many sexual references in it, and too many naked scenes as well. I would NOT let my stepdaughter see it, and it wasn't actually that funny. So my rating on this movie is 1 out of 10.

Today I went over to visit my friend Denise and her kids. We took the kids outside, since they have a huge property. We had such a blast with the kids. Here, Jacob is showing us what he just learned from his daddy the other day...how to hold a piece of alfalfa in his mouth, which by the way, Jacob kept telling us, tasted juicy! LOL!!

This was SO funny!!!!!!! Jacob said he had to go pee, but I guess he didn't want to take his boots off and go in the house, so off came his pants, and he peed in the trees! LOL!!!!! Is this just not the cutest smile EVER?!?!? This is Izzy! She is such a sweetheart!
We "played" soccer with Jacob...he's pretty good!
Thanks for having me over today Denise! I had a blast with you and the kids!

This post is for my husband, Pete. I love him SO much, and I often feel badly, that I am not the most fun wife, especially lately. Pete is so good to me, and I know he loves me so much. I know it must be hard for him to have a sick wife, as I often see the sadness in his eyes, when he doesn't quite know how to help me when I am very sick. I'm really putting our marriage vows to the test, well the "for sickness and in health" ones, anyways. He never complains when I don't have enough energy, or when I just need to sleep, or medicate myself. Pete makes me laugh, every day! I think laughter is so important in any relationship, but more so when you are sick. We laugh a lot together, even through tears sometimes :) One thing I LOVE the most about Pete, is that he is never short on kisses. He'll often just come up to me, and kiss my cheek, or grab me and plant one on me.... :) Believe it or not, I STILL get butterflies in my stomach, when I know he's on his way home from work, or when I hear his car pull into the driveway, from being in town. Cheesy, I know, but we're newlyweds, and we're allowed to feel this way... LOL! Anyhow, I know it can't be easy, being the husband of a sick wife, so when you think of us, please remember to pray for Pete, that he continues to know how much I love him, and for strength each and every day.

My Collection/Obsession

Ever since YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in '99 I have been collecting Piglet's. When I was at YWAM, I became best friends with a gal named Brooke. She LOVED anything Winnie The Pooh. Since we were ALWAYS together, people started calling me Piglet. No, not because I was fat, but because Pooh's trusty sidekick is Piglet. Pete has helped me add A LOT to my Piglet collection :) Today, I was able to get this display cabinet for FREE, so, my collection came out of the box in the closet, and well, here it is on display, in our living room! LOL! (click on the picture for larger image). Once it was all on display, it kinda shocked me how much Piglet stuff I really had! I have everything from a cookie cutter, pens, stickers, stuffies, key chains, PEZ dispensers, socks, mittens, magnets etc. I would still like Piglet pj's and Piglet slippers, and a Piglet housecoat. It's hard to find just Piglet. A lot of places sell stuff that is Pooh AND Piglet together. If any of my faithful readers EVER see anything JUST Piglet, please let me know :) I am always adding to the collection ;)

Adventures with Cindy and Barb

So it's not often, that you luck out and get neighbors who turn out to become great friends, but that's exactly what has happened to us!!! Rob and Cindy, live in the top unit on the other side of our 4plex. Cindy and I are as "thick as thieves". LOL!! We are constantly showing up at each other's doors, sometimes in our pj's, other times, just to chat and hang out. Last night was no different. Cindy and I were chatting online, and she decided to come over, in her housecoat! LOL!!! Her hubby soon followed...well, one thing led to another, and Cindy and I were in the mood, and had a craving for roasted marshmallows....LOL!!! Pete, fired up the bbq for us.... and, well...

We always end up laughing our heads off...Cindy is SUCH a riot!
On Saturday, Cindy and I decided to go to Birchwood Dairy for ice cream...again, we always end up laughing our heads off...this calf was enjoying Cindy's finger, a tad too much! LOL!!!! Cindy and I could NOT stop laughing! LOL!!!! I could hardy take the picture! The horse had just licked my ear, and that's why I had this look on my face! LOL!!!!
It's awesome to have a friend that is just a few feet away. Cindy has a chronic illness as well, so she knows all about crappy days, and feeling sick and worn out. We've just recently started walking together after supper every day. We live in such a beautiful area, and our house backs on to a fenced walking path, so we do an entire loop and end up back at our houses. I feel VERY blessed to have such a great friend!

I just wanted to explain a little bit about the cancer that is invading my body. When I was diagnosed over 6 years ago, I was put on a chemotherapy drug, the one I am currently on. When I was put on this drug, I was told, that long term use of this type of chemotherapy, could possibly have a negative effect on my organs. For six years I did not have any symptoms to suggest that my organs were having a problem, until now. I had put what I was originally told about this drug, in the way back of my mind, since up until now, things have been "ok". This current type of chemotherapy has run it's course and is no longer effective in treating my cancer. Sometimes I wish I could just have the "regular" chemotherapy by I.V. drip and some radiation. But, because the cancer is in my blood, and blood runs through out the body, I can not have radiation, and I.V. therapy would not work. The next option for me will be a chemotherapy drug that I was on, for a month, called Interferon. Everyone's body produces Interferon, but the amount I will be taking is more than what the body makes. The entire month that I was on Interferon, I was SO sick. It's like when you get the really bad flu, and you have chills, and body aches, nausea etc. In order to go on Interferon this time, my hematologist feels it would be in my best interest to be hospitalized for a month, while they wean me off of my current chemo, and start me on Interferon. She said it will be easier to deal with the side effects of the Interferon, if I am able to get the anti nausea drugs and morphine while in the hospital. My hematologist works out of St. Pauls hospital in Vancouver, so I would be in St. Pauls for a month. Obviously this is not the most ideal situation, as Pete, and my family and friends would have to drive an hour to see me, and being away from my husband for a month is REALLY going to bite the big one. But, having said that, I am REALLY confident with my hematologist, and she hasn't steered me wrong as of yet. I feel really safe in her care, and being in the hospital will only be a month, while I adjust to the new chemo. I have BIG plans for this summer, so we agreed to start the Interferon in Sept./Oct. I'm going to beat this cancer, and I'll do whatever it takes. I'm one of the most stubborn people you'll EVER meet, and when I put my mind to something, I don't back down, EVER! LOL! I'm not dreading the one month hospital stay, I'm going to look at it as a "vacation" of sorts...LOL! Hey, being waited on hand and foot, with the push of a button? Sounds like a holiday to me! LOL! So, this is "the plan" for now. God might have other plans, you know, like to heal me completely, so you know, I'm open to anything :)
